Become an Event Organizer

Help Shape the Future of Yukon Orienteering

DISCOVER ORIENTEERING
Are you interested in taking your orienteering involvement to the next level? Organizing an event is a rewarding way to contribute to our community while developing valuable skills in course planning, mapping, and event management.

How It Works

All new event organizers work with an experienced mentor who will guide you through every step of the process. You'll learn how to:
  • Select appropriate terrain and starting locations
  • Design courses for different skill levels
  • Use orienteering mapping software
  • Set up registration and timing systems
  • Manage event logistics and volunteers

Get Started

Organizing an event might seem challenging at first, but our mentorship system ensures you'll have support throughout the process. Many of our current organizers started with little experience but have developed into confident course planners.

We provide all the necessary equipment, software, and maps—you just need to bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn!

Ready to take the first step? Contact our Event Coordinator at coordinator@yukonorienteering.ca and let us know you're interested in becoming an event organizer.

Note: As part of our commitment to safety, all event organizers complete basic training to ensure quality experiences for participants.
