Depending on which event you are interested in, the schedule differs

9:30 briefing for 6 hour Score Orienteering participants
9:40 course planning for 6 hour Score Orienteering participants
10:00 mass start for 6 hour Score Orienteering participants
10:15 first start for 2 hour Score O (do not come before 10:15)
12:30 briefing for 3 hour Score Orienteering / Adventure Run
12:40 course planning for 3 hour Score O / Adventure Run
13:00 mass start for 3 hour Score Orienteering / Adventure Run
14:00 last start for 2 hour Score Orienteering format
16:00 all courses close, all participants must return & check-in

What to Bring

Bear spray, cell phone (mandatory for safety), compass (1 for each person). Water, energy food, watch, whistle, change of clothes.

Notes for Participants

A few things to keep in mind...

Map scale 1:15,000. Map has been simplified for easier reading (vegetation detail has been removed)
Organizers will stay at the start/finish location during the entire event
Emergency phone # 867 334 4613 (add it to your contacts in case you lose the map) or 911
Teams of two (min 1 adult) required for 3 and 6 hour events, teams or individual for 2 hour Score Orienteering version
All participants must be YOA members (or any other Canadian club) - see JOIN US on www.yukonorienteering.ca$10 membership fee (covers insurance and includes waiver)
- Fee - $10 per team (two maps) for 3 and 6 hour Score-O
- Fee - $5 per individual (one map) for Adventure Run and 2 hour Score-O
- Both fees are included in the YOA Member Season Map Pass!

Event Description

This event will be of the Score-O or Rogaine (Rugged Outdoor Group Activity Involving Navigation and Endurance) type. You (or your team) have a limited time to find as many controls as possible in any order and return to the finish. This involves using a compass (no GPS) and a map. All participants must be YOA members ($10 signup at www.yukonorienteering.ca).
