The current format of the Whitehorse Adventure Run (W*A*R) is a two-person team adventure run involving cross-country running and requires basic navigation and map reading skills. The course is suitable for any cross country runners.
The course for 2010 will be less than 20 km in length, and may includes a few surprise "adventures" en route. Navigation will be very basic (mostly trail route choice) this year to give runners a chance!
The is a balanced event that pits the skills of traditional runners against competitive orienteerers. It also provides a great opportunity for new and experienced Adventure Racers to practice their navigation skills.
The W*A*R has been hosted by the Yukon Orienteering Association since 2005.
