Start Lists Posted

Maps For Sale

A limited number of Yukon orienteering maps will be available for sale at the registration/package pick up on Thursday July 14 and Friday July 15. You are invited to do your own training on the following non-embargoed areas: War Eagle, Miles Canyon, Chadburn Lake, Ear Lake, Yukon College.

The following areas are embargoed or partially embargoed:

The Long Lake map (both the 2004 version at 1:10,000 and the 1998 version at 1:15,000) are embargoed south of the trail angling across the map south west to north east ca. 125 metres south of the south end of Long Lake.
The Lorne Mountain map (1997) is embargoed south and southeast of the Annie Lake Road.
The Carcross Desert map is embargoed.

WRE Long Bulletin 3

The WRE Long Distance Bulletin 3 is now available on the website.

Training Area Open July 15

There will be a training area with controls, located in Whitehorse. The training area will be available at all times starting the morning of July 15th. If you signed up for the training area when you registered (it was referred to as the model event previously) you will receive the map in your registration package.

Registration Package Pickup

When: Thursday July 14th and Friday July 15th from 4 - 7 pm
Where: Sport Yukon, 4061-4th Avenue, Whitehorse (see the home page for map)
Anyone arriving after these dates can pick up their package at the registration and information table at the assembly area for each race.

COF Conference Schedule

Normal Registration Deadline Extended

The deadline for normal registration pricing for the events has been extended to June 19 at 23:59 PDT. The last day for purchasing banquet tickets has also been moved to June 19. The deadline for ordering T-shirts has not been extended, but some of the shirts will be for sale at the events for the same price ($25).

O Gear For Sale At Races

The Canadian Orienteering Store will be at the WCOC/COC races. They plan on selling Moscompasses, Vavrys clothing, Trimtex clothing, Inov-8 shoes, as well as a host of other smaller items.

Sass Peepre Registration

The Sass Peepre junior training camp page on the website has been updated. Please note that in addition to registering online, every participant must complete a registration form (available on the website) and send it to the camp registrar, Meghan Rance. Even if you've already registered for the camp online, you must still send in the form. See the website for details.

The IOF has approved three of the races to be World Ranking Events:

The Western Canadian Championships - Long: July 17
The Canadian Championships - Sprint: July 22
The Canadian Championships - Middle: July 24
